Best Arena 4 Deck – Climb into Higher Arenas With Ease
An easy Arena 4 Deck you say? It does exist.
We get it, the first Arena was like breathing, super easy, but now you are struggling to move past Arena 2 and 3, and you don’ have the Gems to spend on a bunch of new cards. Well this deck is designed for the player that has some pretty basic starter cards. The cards are primarily not incredibly rare and as such this is a versatile option for the person who is starting out.
This guide will walk you through a great beginner deck that can be used during the first few Arenas and to beat another Arena 4 deck.
For this deck you will need two Epics, fortunately they are common enough to get early on for most players…
The deck consists of: The Prince, Baby Dragon, Spear Goblins, Arrows, Minions, Tombstone, Mini P.E.K.K.A. + One card of choice (preferably Goblins, Goblin Hut, or Valkyries play tests). The average Elixir cost will likely be between 3.3 and 3.6.
Purpose of the Deck
This deck is designed to maximize speed, while allowing for some strong rush tactics. There are some powerful counters to this deck as well, so depending on your play style, you may want to add a card in that helps you with whatever seems to be your Achilles heel.
(For us, it was Arena 5 cards being used in Arena 4 by people who failed to keep progressing, so this deck may have some challenges towards the 1300 Trophy mark.)
He’s a rare one. This Epic card is great for surprising or your opponent. Powerful attack, lots of life, and a cost of 5 elixir. He rushes fast but is often murdered by a horde of Skeletons. Still, when used effectively, he can crush a player early on.
A great ground troop who just decimates buildings. MP is great for using in a pinch with defense but particularly useful as a forward assault troop. When paired with Prince, against an opponent with expensive troops, they can be an invaluable combo.
Just some good cheap air units. Often an opponent will neglect Air or Land at some point in the match. Minions are great, when combined with a Baby Dragon, for a quick power Combo.
A strong dragon that spits fire, it’s slow but great for attacking groups of low tier enemies. When coupled with a horde of skeletons, it slowly hovers over them, spraying fire on everything below.
This makes a horde of Skeletons that slowly trickle out towards the opponent. A Great spawning unit for overwhelming the enemy as you focus on distracting them. Pretty vulnerable to arrows and fire.
These are great against Flying Balloons, Baby Dragons, and Minions. Often those show up unopposed, so a cheap unit that can be used to take them out is an effective choice to fight with.
Prince P.E.K.K.A. Rush
One of the simplest strategies for a beginning player is to split the opponents focus. At the beginning of a round, if the prince is in your hand, wait until the opponent decides to play cards. You can usually see the moves he is about to make, based on whether he puts out a powerful Elixir consuming card such as the Giant, or a small little guy. Smarter opponents will often wait as well attempting to force your move.
When the opponent has picked a lane, if they have concentrated all their forces on one lane, throw the prince into the opposite lane. The prince is fast, and can rush the Tower quickly and sometimes even destroy it in one fell swoop with limited support.
If a prince is not available, a Mini P.E.K.K.A. can be used as well, and if full on Elixir, both can be used. Generally this is risky, but can really pay off in a deck like this, where low level cards are mixed with high level cards. It’s easy to mount a cheap defense of goblins and skeletons if the heavy hitters fail.
(Bonus, throw down a tombstone to distract the opponent and then do the Prince P.E.K.K.A. Rush in the opposite lane, should cost 12 Elixir and totally destroy one lane while defending the other)
Counter to Prince P.E.K.K.A.
The opponent may use several counters, such as a group attack or flying units. Often a Skeleton Army can shut down a Mini P.E.K.K.A. or Prince and there is little time to counter. If this occurs, be very careful about knowing when your opponent cannot summon a Skeleton army or other mob.
This is simply the strategy of overwhelming your opponent, using a Goblin Hut and Tombstones, plant as many troop creators as possible on one side of the map while using counter units on the other side. For instance…
Spear Goblins and Skeletons pouring out of spawn points on one side will necessitate that the opponent stop the flow, while this is happening, if you can use a baby dragon or Prince on the opposing lane, he will be overwhelmed. By the end of a match, it is possible to have 4 or 5 buildings sending out a MASSIVE army to murder your opponent.
Note: Be very wary of using the Barbarian Hut. It is very expensive. Still it is not a terrible option if you are strategic. Due to the price, length of spawn, and more, it’s usually better to just summon Barbarians.
Counter to Horde Mode
Arrows, Fireballs, and more! Things that kill groups of weak creatures fast tend to decimate the Horde Mode strategy. This means that sometimes, putting in tank like the Prince or MP is a great option to shore up the strategy. I personally prefer, Air Support hovering over my massive Horde.
This requires Minions, Baby Dragon, and a Minion Horde. Load up as much Elixir as possible and create a massive flying horde as early as possible. You can kill an entire Skeleton Army without any damage with this flying horde. Eating up your enemies Elixir is a GREAT way to slow them down. If you are blessed by an opponent using a slow-moving creature with limited strength (Such as the Giant), you may be able to kill the creature and push forward early on. This is a great strategy at lower Arena’s but tends to be countered quick by the end of Arena 4.
Counter to Air Rush
Arrows. It leaves behind a Baby Dragon, an orphan of this terrible war. At the same time, you can still counter this strategy by timing the Minion Horde immediately after an arrow strike. If you know your opponent is using arrows, try to draw them out with a Tombstone or other Horde method. This will waste the arrows and take a moment to cycle back through the deck.
Conquer the Arena!
That’s all for our basic Arena 4 deck. Remember, once you get to 1300 Trophies, it will start to feel a little archaic. Regardless this is great deck to thrash opponents early on and quickly move up the ranks!
