Clone: Unique Spell that Duplicates Your Army
Such strange things are found in test tubes! Clone is a unique Spell found at the Frozen Peak (Arena 8). As a cheap card with varied uses, clone is a good compliment to any deck with a Lava Hound, Giant Skeleton, Golem.
Unlike Mirror, clone is an area of affect spell cast onto thebattlefield that creates a copy of any units within its AoE.
These units are very fragile, having only 1 hit point. Despite being made ofwimpiness, the clones deal the exact same amount of damage as the original copy. This opens all sorts of unique uses of the Clone spell.
Usually used during large scale pushes, Clone can produce a large group to be used as bullet sponges (Cloning a group of minions for instance) or to drastically increase damage output. Still the clones are incredibly easy to finish with any mass damage causing card such as arrows, zap, or fireball. A slight breeze might even kill a clone.
Still Clones have many uses! Most of the characteristics of the original unit are retained when making a clone, such as after death effects and special abilities. This means clones can be especially useful when special attacks are considered. For instance, two Princes can cause devastating damage and the clone benefits from the Charge ability. Or when the Sparky fires a tower.
Units that die quickly as cannon fodder (Such as skeletons) can be useful to clone as they are literally killed by almost any attack anyways. Cloning units that are easily killed isn’t very different from summoning them and can often cost less.
Also don’t be stupid. You can’t clone buildings.

Bombs… Bombs Everywhere
Death effects still work for cloned cards. For instance, cards that deal death damage by leaving a bomb behind, such as balloon and giant skeleton still leave bombs behind. This means by cloning a giant skeleton at a crown tower, you automatically guarantee some pretty significant damage. While this costs a bit of elixir, it is a great strategy to CRUSH a building. If the tower has already locked onto the original Giant, you may be able to do a ton of damage with the other skeleton before he even dies. Clones can also can save against the attacks of a Skeleton Army as the clone will drop a bomb quickly and clean house in time for the other Giant Skeleton to make it to the Tower.
Tip: Try cloning a long-range unit such as the wizard if the enemy is sending a horde at you. The Wizard has an incredible Area of Effect attack and can fend off goblins and skeletons quickly in a pinch.
Clone is invaluable to troops that spawn units upon death such as Lava Hound and Golem. While the cloned troops are still 1 HP shy of eternity, they have the same amount of damage potential. With a unit such as the Lava Hound, this produces six lava pups that swoop in to damage enemies and crown towers. If timed right, a cloned Golem or Lava Hound will die and immediately produce several troops. If the Crown Tower is locked on to the original unit, the Clone hacks away with massive damage. If the clone is defeated, the spawned units murder the tower. It’s a win-win. This strategy with a Lava hound can result in 7-12 units POUNDING the Crown Tower.
Tip: Clones are often ineffective for defense if they are ground troops, since they can be targeted by air. Yet when a flying unit is cloned above ground units that can’t attack air, they can kill them quick and without fear.
Defend Against Clone
Really anything. Clones are very weak. For most units, a spell is super-effective. For fending off clones Skeleton Giants, try to kill them before they reach the tower, as cloning a Giant Skeleton at a tower is advantageous even when eliminated. Wizard is particularly effective as his AoE murders clones easily.
Should you use Clone?
This card is VERY strategic and shouldn’t be thrown into a deck just to fill a slot. When used correctly, Clone can recoup lost elixir cost and turn the tide of battle. When used poorly though, Clone is similar to torching your elixir and giving up.
