The Magic Archer – Latest Clash Royale Legendary Card
Revealed as a sneak peak on 12th of February, the new legendary Magic Archer is yet be released. With the latest balance changes that Clash Royale have announced, this legendary card appeared. The exact stats are yet to be confirmed, though, but his introduction was classy:
The Magic Archer deals a splash damage, in a linear area (like the Executioner). With the range of 7 tiles, it will be enough to replace the famous Wizard in many decks. The wizard was the most famous support card so far, especially with PEKKA or Golem.
Wielding a magic bow, he’s clearing everything in his path with a single shot. Nobody knows if he’s an archer or a wizard, but his shots deal area damage to all on arrow’s trail. Seems a magic, instead of a trick to me!
Supercell revelaed the Magic Archer level 1 stats:
|Magic Archer Level 1|
|Arena||Electro Valley (Arena 11)|
|Damage per second||96|
They looked quite ordinary on first sight. The actual gameplay and how it can be combined shows otherwise:
Magic Archer Combinations and Synergies
His ability to clear swarm of troops with a single shot (especially skeletons) makes him quite valuable. The area damage is dealt to each unit that stands on his arrow’s path.
The Magic Archer perfectly counters Skeletons, Goblins, the Dart Goblin, the Princess, the minions and even the archers. Can even defeat the Barbarians and the Bomber, depending of the spawn location.
Usually combined with a tank such as the Golem or Giant, the Magic Archer serves as a great support card. Another great synergies are the Mega Knight, the Miner and the Ice Golem.
It will probably replace the wizard and the executioner in many decks, such as the “Pekka-Hog”, or the “Golem-Wiz” deck combos. PEKKA, the Elite Barbarians and the Prince will make a perfect combo with the Magic Archer, mostly due to it’s lower elixir cost.
Counters to Magic Archer
Spell work great against the Magic Archer, apparently. Poison and Fireball kills him instantly. The Log and zap, however fail, even if they are combined together. Arrows produce insufficient damage, too.
Other troop cards, such as the Lumberjack and the mini PEKKA, can take him out with ease. The knight, the Royal ghost works perfectly well, too. Not to mention the PEKKA.
What are your thought on the Magic Archer? Will he be one of the most wanted cards in the game? Can the Ice Wizard take the rest in the Arena after all? Share your comments below.
