Rare Card: The Three Musketeers
We mostly focus on finding ways to save up elixir, but with the Three Musketeers, being cheap is not an option. This card costs a whopping 9 elixir to deploy! They were introduced at an even higher 10 elixir cost but later adjusted to 9. With all of that elixir, the question is… is it worth spending? Let’s take a close and weigh it for its worth.
Offense is a definite key for winning in the game but with the lack of defensive measures, more particularly with tanking, then it would be rendered unworthy. The Three Musketeers are basically three markswomen that blasts shots of high damage along with moderate health points. Although they seem to be that deadly, they can be unlocked when one reaches Arena 7 or the Royal Arena.
Taking the Risks
The Three Musketeers is a risky card to play, and there’s no doubt about that. Without any idea of the opponent having a good counter of this, it is quite a gamble. The punish their opponents with brute shot force inflicting massive chaotic damage upon but you do have to keep them safe at all times. Though units in Clash Royale perish after a few seconds of serving their purpose, you must try your very best to keep them alive. If an immediate threat is to approach, the Guards are a great support to them. The Guards can take one damage and then sacrifice their life afterwards, making two blocks of shield. Though they have low health points, putting them up front would enable your pushing army, including the Three Musketeers to progress drastically further into the core.
Tanks play a big role on the gameplay when the Three Musketeers are involved. The well known super tank which is the Golem sounds perfect for this however, the elixir cost is high as well. In order for you to execute this combo, you have to build up elixir collectors before hand. This will allow you to produce much more elixir as the rate is speed up a few seconds. This appears too good to be true but can be done, just be keen of those damaging spells as they could eliminate those collectors in a flash.
The good thing about the Three Musketeers is the moderate health points that they have. Compared to the Princess, the they cannot be taken down by a single fireball of a level equivalent to them. Proper placement of the Three Musketeers is the determining factor of the match. With the Golem most likely impossible to happen, you can have a Royal Giant instead to do the tanking for you. The two make an excellent combo as well.
Another important game changer is the use of spells, particularly with the Rage Spell. When dropped on a furious trio of musketeers, they could punish everything within their sight. One tactical strategy is to place the Three Musketeers in the middle of your base for them to split into two groups. However, you have to support both lanes in order for them to get to the desired targets, namely the Crown Towers.
